đ 16 simple practices to feel better
The PERFECT HUNGER⢠Guide to Transformative Eating
Dearest Reader,
I believe with my whole heart that our body is a gift, our home, our ally. I also believe that our deepest essence wants to move towards wellness and wholeness. By listening to and caring for our body, we support this movement and invite greater ease and well-being.
And, it doesnât always feel that way.
Perhaps you want to stop thinking about food, your body, and what you eat all day, every day, to the point where your happiness feels hijacked by your own mind. Perhaps you crave freedom from bingeing or restricting but are still struggling in silence, as I once was. Perhaps youâre seeking relief from a chronic health condition and feel overwhelmed by all the advice out there. Perhaps you want to shift your body composition or lose weight without fighting yourselfâyes, even in perimenopause or menopause, even without GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic.
As a licensed Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 2012, a practicing Buddhist and yogi for more than two decades, and someone whoâs sober from alcohol and in full recovery from eating disorders, I want to tell you three things:
Shifting unhelpful patterns related to food is challengingâand deeply freeing.
Changing these patterns is possible.
This work impacts far more than whatâs on our plate; it benefits our physical health, mental health, spiritual practice, experience of aging, relationships, creativity, and all the ways we show up in the worldâfor ourselves and for others.
If you feel entangled in unhelpful patterns around food and eating, please know youâre not alone. And if youâre exploring ways to find peace and feel good in your body again, Iâve created a comprehensive guide to support you.
Iâm sharing the PERFECT HUNGER⢠Guide to Transformative Eating with you now because:
I know the holidays can be tough for people who struggle with unhelpful patterns related to food and eating. The guide includes a practical component (specific yet accessible eating guidelines) and support for shifting internal patterns and your relationship with food (itâs not âjust another dietâ).
Even if youâre not ready to make any changes right now, the guide is here for you when youâre ready. While it focuses on eating and health, I have a pretty strong hunch it will also be a powerful support for those of you exploring sobriety or making other big changes.
I know many people like to get a fresh start on January 1st⌠but donât always have a clear, straightforward, holistic plan. This is that planâand my hope is that even knowing itâs there will help you more fully enjoy the holidays without worry or guilt (no matter how many cookies are piled on your plate đŞ).
The guide is extensiveâthe original document is 24 pages.
It walks you through a self-paced version of the exact type of work I do with patients but at a much lower, more accessible price ($40 for an annual subscription = $3.33 a month = WAY less than one-on-one sessions).
It lives on the website as a resource for you to use now, in the new year, or any other time when you feel called to make supportive shiftsâwhether big or small, whether related to the actual foods youâre eating or how you relate to them.
Paying subscribers can access the guide here:
If youâre not yet a paying subscriber, you can upgrade here for full access.
Whether or not this specific resource is for you, please tap the little heart if youâd like, and share this post on Notes or elsewhereâhelping it reach those who might benefit from holistic, skillful, compassionate support⌠but might not be able to afford working one-on-one with a licensed practitioner.
Iâll see you soon with a My Soulful Life letter, in which Iâll be sharing the latest drama from the Thai countryside⌠and introducing a couple new family members đ .
With so much love,
Dana
