Dearest Reader,
I’ve been writing lots about addiction this week and last. I’ll place a bit of it below. Even more still is sitting on my laptop, being edited and polished and worked through.
The working through is happening in real time as well, of course. When it comes to sobriety, there’s always another place of exploration. There’s always another place of practice.
For me, this is about getting honest. For me, this is about being human.
Turns out, I had plenty of material this week! I had a photo session for my business and brand, and having my picture taken (and seeing those pictures) is one of the most triggering things I know.
So, I’m doing what helps: daily writing, yoga, and meditation; nourishing, healthy meals eaten extra slow; plenty of time in solitude, in my cabin with autumn fires in the wood stove; online Adult Child of Alcoholics meetings.
Those help. Pretty much always.
I hope you’re finding what you most need this day. I’ll leave you with one snapshot and an abundance of Canadian Thanksgiving blessings.
In integrity & alchemy,
Dana
As a toddler, surrounded by bits and bobs of toddler toys, I would line up the smallest bits single file.
Placed with precision, one after the next. Order. I made order. And so it was. Until it wasn’t.
