The Machine and the screams continue.
I clocked my neighbor’s last scream at 2:30 a.m. It was just days ago, right before publishing last week’s letter, and I spent the remainder of the night awake: waiting, wondering, keeping watch.
Remember, these screams were happening feet from my bed, through paper-thin walls. Also recall that his balcony and mine are separated by a short stretch of roof, with no locks on the doors.
